Rebecca Zimmerman focuses her practice on all types of family law matters throughout the Richmond, Virginia area and surrounding counties. She recognizes that there is no one-size-fits-all solution to family law issues, so she strives to tailor her advice and representation to each client's unique circumstances and goals. Rebecca is a zealous advocate in court but also encourages clients to consider cost-saving alternatives to litigation including mediation and negotiation when appropriate. Rebecca recognizes that her clients are often in the midst of one of the most difficult and challenging times in their lives, so she approaches each issue with an open mind and compassion, and she seeks to educate and empower her clients by providing straightforward legal advice and viable solutions.

Rebecca Zimmerman graduated from the University of Virginia in 2008 and earned her law degree in 2013 from the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. While in law school, Rebecca served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Catholic University Law Review, and she worked with family law clients through the Columbus Community Legal Services Families and the Law Clinic. During law school Rebecca was the recipient of the 2012 D.C. Women's Bar Association Foundation's  Fellowship Grant for her work with at risk youth and children in underserved populations at Children's Law Center in Washington, D.C. Rebecca also completed internships with the Arlington County Circuit Court Judge's chambers, Innocence Project, and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program.  Prior to law school, Rebecca worked as a paralegal at Covington & Burling LLP in Washington, D.C. where she assisted attorneys on a variety of complex matters and provided litigation support for multi-day trials.

Following law school, Rebecca Zimmerman served as the judicial law clerk for the Honorable Richard B. Potter (now retired) in the Prince William County Circuit Court in northern Virginia where she gained invaluable insight into the analysis and reasoning behind judicial decisions. Rebecca practiced family law for four years in northern Virginia before returning to her hometown of Richmond, Virginia in 2018 where she has continued to practice family law. Rebecca also provides straightforward estate planning assistance including drafting wills, powers of attorney, and advanced medical directives.

Rebecca lives in Midlothian with her husband and two children. In her free time, Rebecca enjoys traveling, gardening, and supporting small businesses.
