Todd grew up in the Annapolis, MD area and as his dad was an alumnus of the Naval Academy he spent a lot of time growing up on The Yard watching the Plebes get put through their paces and going to Navy football games.  Todd did not go to the Naval Academy but enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve instead and did 5 years in the Infantry.   One interesting experience that Todd had growing up was playing soccer in Europe right after the Berlin Wall came down.  Todd spent his high school sophomore summer playing in Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark.  He regrets that Facebook had not yet been invented.

After getting the internet bug during the dot com boom Todd spent several years doing SQL database programming and broadband streaming audio/video support for two internet companies.  When the internet boom collapsed Todd packed up and left the DC area, where he had lived his entire life, for San Diego's Thomas Jefferson School of Law.  While in law school Todd was active in several different student organizations, won a cash prize for a paper on Internet Gambling from the American Society of Composers, Authors & Publishers (ASCAP), was an Editor of the school newspaper and started his school's Street Law program, which teaches high school students about the law and helps them conduct a full mock trial at the end of their semester.   Todd also represented several residents of San Diego's Veterans' Village, a nonprofit residential rehabilitation center for veterans with drug and alcohol addictions.

After graduating from law school and passing the California bar Todd combined his internet skills and lawyer skills to work for a legal self-help website, Lawinfo.com, where he designed forms and wrote informational articles for the site's customers.   Todd then moved back to the east coast and became licensed in Virginia.

Todd opened his own practice in the Midlothian area in April 2010 and began practicing in the civil, criminal and domestic relations areas of the law, and has also established a successful growing practice in credit card and mortgage debt modifications.  Upon joining Coates & Davenport Todd is expanding his practice to include bankruptcy and estate planning.

MORTGAGE MODIFICATION

If you are currently in the situation of not being able to afford your current mortgage but you do have the ability to pay a mortgage if your lender would modify it to a lower interest rate or reduce the principal, but have not had any success in getting your lender to work with you, Todd may be of assistance.  Todd is familiar with dual tracking and securitization violations that numerous home lenders have committed over the past several years.  Sometimes only a call, or a lawsuit, from an attorney will get your lender to work with you.

In his private time Todd is an avid crossfitter and is involved in a Richmond Former Marine networking group and other community organizations.
